- The Cardinals entered the game ranked fifth nationally in the nation in field goal defense. They held the Orange to just 24.0 percent shooting in the first half and 29.1 for the game. It was the 16th opponent this season who shot less than 40.0 percent from the floor. It was the fourth opponent to shoot less than 30.0 percent from the floor.
