
7th Ranked Cardinals to Start Play in the Nugget Classic

Reno, Nev. - The 7th ranked Louisville Cardinals will begin play in the Nugget Classic on Friday, Nov. 28 against the Alabama Crimson Tide at 10:30 p.m. EST
The Cardinals enter the game with their highest ranking in school history at No. 7 in the Associated Press poll this week. Louisville is coming off a 59-48 road win over Utah earlier this week. The Cardinals are led in scoring by senior Angel McCoughtry with 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Senior Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Alabama enters the game with an overall record of 3-1. The Crimson Tide have won two straight games after defeating Alabama State 75-47 on Tuesday night. Tierney Jenkins leads the Tide in scoring with 11.0 points per game. Katie Hancock leads the Tide on the boards averaging 7.8 rebounds per game.
Alabama leads the series 3-0 against the Cardinals. The last meeting between the two teams was in the Pepperdine Thanksgiving Classic where the Cardinals fell 90-89. The previous two meetings were held during the 1980's where Alabama won both games in Louisville and Tuscaloosa.
