10th Ranked Cardinals Host Austin Peay for Home Opener

Louisville, Ky. - The 10th ranked Cardinals will host Austin Peay Monday evening at the Kentucky International Convention Center at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals defeated Tennessee Tech 82-49 in the season opener while Austin Peay defeated Lipscomb 65-54 in their season opener.
Louisville was led in scoring by senior Angel McCoughtry with 29 points while becoming Louisville's all-time leading scorer. Senior forward Candyce Bingham finished with 13 points and Laura Terry added 11 points. McCoughtry also led the Cardinals with three assists and six steals.
In the Lady Govs win, Nicole Jamen led the team with a career-high 14 points, adding five rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Salem Richardson added a career-high 12 points and added five rebounds.
Monday's game will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2000-01 season. It will be the sixth meeting between the Cardinals and the Lady Govs. Louisville leads the series 5-0.
The game will be broadcast live on WKRD with Jim Kelch on play-by-play and Adrienne Johnson with color commentary. The game will also be broadcast on www.uoflsports.com.
