Women's Tennis Completes First Day at Tennessee Classic

The University of Louisville women's tennis team completed its first day of competition at the St. Mary's Classic hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Cardinals have four players representing U of L with the doubles pairs of Jo-Anne Van Aerde and Lindsey Jones in flight two and Bianca Gorbea and Natalia Baez competing in flight four.
Van Aerde and Jones fell 8-3 in their first outing against East Tennessee State and then lost to Tennessee 8-3. The doubles pair from North Carolina beat them 8-2 in the consolation.
Gorbea and Baez fared better although they lost to East Tennessee State 8-6 in the first round, they advance with a bye in the second round and then beat another pair from East Tennessee State 8-5 to get third place in the flight.
