- Head coach Rick Pitino recorded his 500th career win and becomes tied for the 14th fastest to reach that mile stone by the number of games (685) and the seventh fastest by the number of seasons (22). He owns a 500-185 career mark.
- Freshman guard Preston Knowles tied his career-high with five points on 2-of-3 shooting. He also had five points against Dayton on December 8.
- The Cardinals connected on 10 three pointers, which was the most since hitting 22 in the season opener against Hartford on November 17.
- Sophomore Earl Clark recorded a new career-high with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field. His previous high for points was 20 in a win over Jackson State on 11/18/07.
- The Cardinals blocked a season-high 13 shots, which was the most since they notched 10 against TCU on 1/8/05.
- Sophomore Derrick Caracter returned to action after serving a one-game suspension scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He went 9-of-11 from the field before fouling out.
- The Cardinals out-scored Marshall, 48-38, in the second half and have out-scored the opposition in the second half in every game this season.
- All nine of the players in the Cardinals' rotation scored in the contest.
- Senior Terrance Farley blocked five shots, which was just one off his career-high of six. It's tied the most blocks by an individual Cardinal player this season, as Earl Clark blocked five against Miami of Ohio. Farley also recorded a season-high seven points.
- The Cardinals forced 17 turnovers and scored 25 points off Thundering Herd miscues.
- Junior Terrance Williams recorded six assists, which was the most in his last six contests.
- The Cardinals enjoyed their best assist-to-turnover ratio with 19 assists and a season-low 11 turnovers.
- The Cardinals shot 50.8 percent from the field, which was the third time this season that the Cardinals shot better than 50 percent from the floor.
