- After going scoreless in his first two collegiate games, freshman guard Preston Knowles scored his first collegiate points on a three-point field goal in the first half. Knowles finished the game with three points.
- With the win, head coach Rick Pitino recorded his 499th career collegiate victory. He's 499-183 all-time in his collegiate career.
- Sophomore Derrick Caracter connected on 6-of-8 shots from the field against Miami. The 6-9 forward has connected on 25-of-36 (69.4 percent )from the floor in the last four contests.
- The win moved the Cardinals to 3-0 at Freedom Hall this season.
- Sophomore Earl Clark recorded 11 rebounds, marking the fifth time in six games that he has 10 or more rebounds in a game. He leads the BIG EAST Conference and ranks fifth nationally in that category.
- Clark also recorded his fifth double-double this season in five games with 10 points and 11 rebounds. As a team, the Cardinals have 12 double-doubles this season in the two exhibition games and six regular season contests.
- Clark recorded a new career-high with five blocked shots. His previous high was three blocks against Jackson State this season on November 18.
- The Cardinals blocked a season-high seven shots for the second straight game and the third time this season.
- The Cardinals out-rebounded their opponent for the fifth time in six games this season.
