- After going scoreless in his first two collegiate games, freshman guard Preston Knowles scored his first collegiate points on a three-point field goal in the first half. Knowles finished the game with three points.
- With the win, head coach Rick Pitino recorded his 499th career collegiate victory. He's 499-183 all-time in his collegiate career.
- Sophomore Derrick Caracter connected on 6-of-8 shots from the field against Miami. The 6-9 forward has connected on 25-of-36 (69.4 percent )from the floor in the last four contests.
- The win moved the Cardinals to 3-0 at Freedom Hall this season.
- Sophomore Earl Clark recorded 11 rebounds, marking the fifth time in six games that he has 10 or more rebounds in a game. He leads the BIG EAST Conference and ranks fifth nationally in that category.
