- With the win over Connecticut, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino moved into a tie for sixth place for the best start by a coach through 21 seasons. Pitino now owns 484 career wins, which ties former Georgetown head coach John Thompson. Pitino and Thompson are both 484-178.
- After going 1-11 in the first half on three-point field goals, the Cardinals went 5-of-12 from behind the arc in the second half.
- After being held to a season-low 18 first half points, the Cardinals scored 50 in the second half, the fifth time Louisville scored 50 points in a half this season.
- Junior Juan Palacios scored 16 points and is averaging 18.5 ppg over the last two contests. He scored 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting in the win over DePaul on Saturday.
- The Cardinals held the Huskies to 36.0 shooting from the floor, marking the sixth time in the last eight games that Louisville has held the opposition to less than 40.0 percent shooting from the field.
- Louisville won for just the third time this season when trailing at the half. The Cardinals trailed, 21-18, against Connecticut. Louisville is 3-6 now when trailing at the half.
- Junior center/forward David Padgett recorded his second double-double this season and the fifth of his career. In the win over Connecticut, Padgett recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds. His other double-double came when he collected 16 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Kentucky on 12/16/06.
- Connecticut entered the game ranked second in the country in rebounding margin at +10.6 per game. However, the Cardinals tied the Huskies on the boards, 41-41.
- Louisville held the Huskies to 54 points, marking the seventh time this season that Louisville has held the opposition to fewer than 60 points. Louisville is 7-0 in those games and have all occurred as the Cardinals have won nine of their last 11 contests.
- Louisville shot 78.8 percent from the free throw line, which was just the fifth time all season that Louisville shot better than 70.0 percent from the charity stripe.
- Louisville shot just 30.5 from the field, marking the sixth time this season that Louisville shot below 40.0 percent from the field. Louisville is 3-3 this season when shooting below 40.0 percent from the floor.
- The Cardinals forced 20 turnovers for the sixth time this season and are 6-0 in those contests.
- The Huskies' Jeff Adrien grabbed 15 rebounds, the most for a player against UofL since Cincinnati's Eric Hicks grabbed 17 against the Cardinals on 1/25/06.
