URBANA, Ill. - The No. 50 ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team fell to the 55th-ranked Illinois in a hard fought 5-2 loss at Atkins Tennis Center late Friday night. The loss snapped the streaking Louisville team four-match run.

With the win U of I moves to 5-6 while the Cardinals post a 13-4.

The stalwart U of L No. 1 doubles pair of Maria Klokotzky and Robyn White fell to the Illlini's 26th-ranked pair of Macall Harkins and Emily Wang 8-6. Natalie Laszkowski and Suzanna Gracanin paired to beat Momei Qu and Shivani Dave at No.3. But the freshman pair of Bianca Gorbea and Natalia Baez fell 8-6 at No. 2.

In singles, Harkins beat Klokotzky 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles but Cardinals countered with a 6-1, 6-4 win from Bianca Gorbea over senior Brianna Knue at No. 4 singles Wang outlasted Gracanin with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win at No. 4. U of I's Momei Qu managed to outlast the always-determined Robyn White with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.

With the Illini ahead 3-2, Natalie Laszkowski battled Shivani Davé and took the first set 6-2, but Dave came back to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-4.

At No. 6, Natalia Baez fell to Alejandra Meza Cuadra in a 6-4, 6-1 match number six singles.
