
Women's Tennis Falls Just Short to Ohio State

The University of Louisville women's tennis team was edged by Ohio State 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Columbus. U of L drops to 9-3 and Ohio State improves to 6-2.
The Cardinals started the match off down one after dropping the doubles point. Maria Klokotzky and Robyn White beat Caitlin O'Keefe and Julia Blackmore at No. 1 doubles 8-3. But their teammates could not match their win and fell at both No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
Klokotzky battled O'Keefe at No. 1 singles and took the match in a three set struggle 6-4.4-6, 6-4. White took on Julie Blackmore at No. 3 and won 6-2, 6-2. Suzanna Gracanin gave U of L its last point with a decisive 6-3, 6-2 win over Ciara Finucane.
U of L returns home for two matches Sunday with Miami on the slate for 2 p.m. followed by Morehead State at 7:30 p.m. in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
