- Junior David Padgett recorded his fourth career double-double and the first this season. The 6-11 forward/center went 4-for-4 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free throw line and scored14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
- Head coach Rick Pitino is 7-4 all-time against Tubby Smith, one of his former assistants. It's the third straight game for Pitino against one of his former assistant coaches.
- The Cardinals were held to a season-low 3-of-24 from behind the three-point line. Louisville entered the game averaging 8.0 trifectas and came in shooting 38.1 percent from behind the arc, but were held to a season-low 12.5 percent shooting from behind the arc. It's the second straight game that Louisville was held to three 3-point field goals. The Cardinals were 3-of-15 against Massachusetts on Dec. 13.
- Louisville shot a season-low 27.0 percent from the floor. The previous low was a 38.6 performance against Arizona on December 5, 2006. It was the first time the Cardinals shot below 30.0 percent from the field since connecting on just 28.6 percent against TCU on on Feb. 17, 2004.
- The Cardinals lost back-to-back home games for the first time since losing to Pittsburgh on Jan. 15, 2006 and Connecticut on Jan. 21, 2006.
- The Cardinals went nearly seven minutes without a field goal in the second half. Louisville scored a field goal at the 10:43 mark and didn't record a field goal until 3:55 left in the second half.
- Freshman guard Jerry Smith recorded a career-high seven rebounds, besting his old mark of five set against Dayton on Nov. 24, 2006.
