Louisville Notes
- U of L won its 17th straight game at home, the longest winning streak in school history and the second longest in the nation (behind USC). U of L is 21-1 in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium under coach Bobby Petrino.
- WR Harry Douglas produced the first two-TD game of his career tonight. He had a career-best seven catches for 86 yards tonight. Douglas, who leads the BIG EAST Conference in receptions and receiving yards per game, has caught at least five passes in seven games this season.
- Junior placekicker Art Carmody set the U of L single-season record for field goals with 16 after booting a 47-yard field goal with 58 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Carmody improved to 16-of-17 on field goals this season and has made 15 straight. He has connected on 30 of his last 31 field goal attempts and is 42-of-48 for his career.
- TE Gary Barnidge caught five passes for 112 yards, both career highs. The Cardinals have had a receiver gain at least 90 yards in seven games this season.
- Junior quarterback Brian Brohm tossed his 33rd career touchdown pass to move past Browning Nagle for sixth place in career passing TDs at U of L. He also passed his brother Jeff for seventh in career completions with 407. Brohm completed 19-of-33 passes for 274 yards tonight, his fifth game this season with at least 250 yards through the air.
- RB Anthony Allen scored his team-leading 10th touchdown of the season with two scores tonight. He has scored a TD in six straight games.
- Louisville's 31 points scored in today's victory marked the most points scored on USF in a game this season (previous high: 23 by Cincinnati).
- The Cardinals' defense held USF to 286 yards, including just 49 on the ground, and the Bulls coverted on just 3-of-14 third down coversions. USF gained 112 of its 286 total yards in the fourth quarter.
- U of L Coach Bobby Petrino improved to 8-1 in games following a loss. Petrino has guided the Cardinals to four straight seasons with at least nine victories.
- Louisville, which entered the game ranked third in the nation in sacks, registered six sacks tonight. The Cardinals have produced at least four sacks in five games this season. U of L had a season-high seven sacks at Syracuse.
- WR Mario Urrutia has caught a pass in 12 straight games.
