- The Cardinals played Villanova in their first-ever BIG EAST Conference game tonight at Freedom Hall.
- Freshman Chad Millard recorded a new career-high with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field. Millard's previous career-high was a six-point performance against Arkansas State on 12/4/05.
- In just his second career start, freshman point guard Andre McGee played a career-best 33 minutes. His previous high was 25 minutes in his first collegiate start against Arkansas State on 12/4/05.
- The loss to Villanova snapped U of L's 13-game home winning streak. Louisville, now 10-1 at Freedom Hall this year, suffered its first home loss since an 85-68 loss to Memphis on 2/9/05.
- Tonight's attendance of 20,058 is the ninth largest crowd in Freedom Hall history.
- Louisville recorded 12 steals, marking the fifth time this year the Cardinals recorded double-digits in steals.
- The Cards' dropped their conference opener for the second straight season. Louisville fell at Houston, 70-67, on 1/5/05.
- Sophomore David Padgett, who fouled out for the second time this year, hit on 8-of-9 shots from the floor to score 17 points, just one point shy of tying his career-high of 18 against Middle Tennesse on 12/20/05.
- The Cardinals were beaten on the boards, 42-34, which was the largest rebound margin of the season. It marked the fourth time the Cardinals were out-rebounded this year.
- Senior Taquan Dean made 21 straight free throws over the last eight games before missing one in the final minute of play.
