
Women's Tennis Beats IUPUI

The University Louisville women's tennis team made it a sweep with a 7-0 win over IUPUI in the second half of the doubleheader Friday night at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"We had a good start getting two wins today," said U of L coach Greg Davis. "We wanted everyone to get a lot of match play and we were successful doing that. Monday is a tough road match against a tough Kentucky team. We willl be looking to continue our improvement."
U of L took the doubles point quickly led by the No. 2 doubles team of Suzanna Gracanin and Natalie Laszkowski swept Nikki Evans and Andrea Burkhardt 8-0. Bianca Gorbea and Natalia Baez followed with a 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Robyn White and Maria Klokotzky had to battle Mallory Stemle and Allison Thompson 8-6 at No. 1
U of L swept every match in singles with Laszkowski and Baez winning with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively. Gorbea beat Thompson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 with White and Stephania Velazquez notching wins for the Cardinals.
