The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell to No. 53 ranked Missouri 5-2 as the Tigers extend their home match winning streak to five in Columbia, Friday evening.
U of L won No. 2 doubles spot when Natalie Laszkowski and Kelly Taylor overpowered Yelena Olshanskaya and Erika Josbena 8-4. The No. 1 pair of Leslie Stewart and Suzanna Gracanin were edged 8-5 by Katka Sevcikova and Carolyn Kramer. But U of L had to default No. 3 doubles so the win for Taylor and Laszkowski was a moot point.
Freshman Robyn White won a closely contested match at No. 2 for the Cardinals, outlasting Hana Kraftova in a tiebreaker. Taylor continued her winning ways with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3 over Olshanskaya. Gracanin took the first set in the No. 4 singles slot but fell 6-1, 6-2 in the next two. Laszkowski battled in a tiebreaker as well but fell 7-6 (10-5) in the second set. U of L defaulted the No. 6 spot.
