Kelly Taylor and Natalie Laszkowski combined for three points in the University of Louisville women's tennis team's 4-3 win over Xavier Thursday at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The No. 68 Cardinals improved their record to 14-5.
The Cardinals got off to a good start by taking the doubles point. Taylor and Laszkowski rolled 8-0 over Kristen Clary and Jackie Vilines. Suzanna Gracanin and Robyn White, in her first shot at No. 1 doubles, won 8-6 over Lauren Clary and Stephanie Bauer.
"We were lucky to win this match," said U of L head coach Greg Davis. "Xavier outplayed us but we were lucky to have players who wouldn't let us lose."
