
Women's Tennis Defeats Morehead State

The University of Louisville women's tennis team beat intrastate rival Morehead State 6-1 to raise its record to 15-5 Thursday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"This was one of our best efforts this year," said Greg Davis. "We played very well across the board against a great Morehead State team that was very talented."
The Cardinals won every match they played, with Morehead State picking up its only point at No. 6 singles which U of L defaulted. U of L won the doubles as Kelly Taylor and Natalie Laszkowski paired at No. 1 for just the second time this season to win 8-2 over Yolanda Araujo and Alex Becka. The freshman duo of Robyn White and Suzanna Gracanin rolled over Mariana Weschenfelder and Laura Ferreira 8-1 at No. 2 to take the point.
In singles, U of L swept the board starting with a tiebreaker set win by Leslie Stewart at No. 1. Taylor and Gracanin both won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and No. 5 respectively. Laszkowski handled Ferreira 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4.
