
Women's Tennis Blanks West Virgina

The University of Louisville women's tennis team blanked the University of West Virginia 7-0 to win the second match of a doubleheader Friday night at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"We feel very fortunate to have won this match. West Virginia is a very deep and talented team," said Greg Davis, U of L head coach. "We played with a lot of heart."
The Cardinals took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Leslie Stewart won No. 1 doubles wit her partner Suzanna Gracanin and then outlasted her singles opponent in three sets. U of L freshman Robyn White rolled easily 6-1, 6-0 over Kelly Walsh. At No. 3, U of L senior Kelly Taylor dropped her first set 1-6 and then won 6-4, 6-4. Natalie Laszkowski, Gracanin and Ariana Marshall won their singles matches to complete the sweep of future Big East opponent Mountaineers.
