The University of Louisville volleyball team held steady at No. 7 in the CSTV/AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll this week. The Cardinals, 23-1 are 11-1 in the BIG EAST.
Cardinals finally return home this weekend to wrap up regular season BIG EAST slate. U of L will host Marquette in a televised match at 2 p.m. Saturday and then host Syracuse Sunday at 1 p.m. If the Cardinals win out, they will be assured of at least a share of the BIG EAST regular season crown. Notre Dame, which had been undefeated in conference play, fell to Pitt last weekend. The Irish dropped to No. 8 in the poll. This gave both U of L and Notre Dame each a loss in conference. If Notre Dame wins out, the Irish would be seeded ahead of the Cardinals in the tiebreaker as U of L lost to NDU 3-1.
The Cardinals will be seeking to stretch their winning streak in Cardinal Arena. They have won the last 25 straight at home.
