
Cook Advances to NCAA Track & Field Championships in Discus

BATON ROUGE, La. - University of Louisville sophomore Brandon Cook automatically qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Championships in the discus after finishing fifth overall at the NCAA Mideast Regionals over the weekend in Baton Rouge, La.
Cook recorded a personal-best mark of 176 feet, 4 inches for the fifth-place finish. The Borden, Ind., native will travel to Austin, Texas for the national meet June 9-12.
Sophomore Arthur Turland finished 15th in the event with a mark of 167-8. Turland also placed 23rd in the hammer throw with a mark of 173-5.
