Women's Tennis Flattens Mountaineers 7-0

The University of Louisville women's tennis team improved its record to 12-5 with a 7-0 sweep of West Virginia University Saturday at Bass-Rudd Tennis.
"This was a good win over a well-coached WVU team. We are playing so hard each match to give our team an opportunity to win," said U of L head coach Greg Davis.
Michele Spiess won her singles match at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jennifer Watkins. She paired with Julia Hierl to beat Kelly Day and Jennifer Watkins 8-3 at first singles. Hierl won her sincles match over Courtney Howellb 6-5, 6-3. Kelly Taylor moved to No. 3 singles and won 6-4, 6-4 over Raynie Theis. She partnered up with Natalie Laszkowski and beat Theis and Kelley Walsh 8-5. Christina Gogol, Paige Eber and Laszkowski all swept their singles matches as well.
