NOTRE DAME, Ind. - A pair of University of Louisville women's track and field athletes competed at the Alex Wilson Invitational Saturday at Notre Dame.
Senior Kelly Faber placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 2.5 inches and was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles preliminary race with a time of 9.01 seconds.
Junior Ify Akubeze finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 38-9.50, the second best mark in school history. Akubeze was also seventh in the long jump at 18-1.75.
The meet wrapped up the indoor season for the Cardinals, with the exception of sophomore Kelley Bowman, who provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the high jump. She should find out this week whether she will make the cut among qualifiers.
