
Women's Golf Finishes 11th at USF/Waterlefe Invitational

Bradenton, Fla. - University of Louisville women's golf team finished 11th at the Waterlefe/USF Invitational on Tuesday after facing adverse weather conditions. After shooting a 306 and 309 in the first round the young Cardinals shot a 331 in the final round to drop to 11th. Ole Miss won the tournament with a score of 926. East Carolina finished second with a score of 932 and Central Florida was third with a 933.
"We had a bad rain early and forced a one hour rain delay," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "I have three young players out there and we just didn't handle the weather and conditions very well today."
Junior Meghan Little shot a low round of 76 today to finish tied for 21st with a score of 235. After shooting an 81 in the final round, sophomore Elly Leonard finished with a score of 231 for her second Top 10 finish in the spring season.
Freshman Katie Tewell finished with a score of 234 for her second Top 20 finish of the spring season. Senior Ali Wright had her third best finish of the year with a score of 246. Wright finished tied for 59th.
The Cardinals will be back in action at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tempe, Ariz. on March 27-28.
