
Women's Golf Finishes 15th in Mountain View Collegiate

Tucson, AZ - The University of Louisville women's golf team finished 17th in the Mountain View Collegiate on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals started out strong shooting a 306 in the first round but struggled in the second round, shooting a 314. Louisville moved up two spots today shooting a 312 in the final round, finishing with a tournament score of 932. The University of Denver won the tournament with a score of 894. Iowa State and Colorado State tied for second with a score of 902.
Freshman Katie Tewell led the Cardinals to finish 11th with a score of 224. This marked the fifth Top 20 finish for Tewell this season. Washington State's Kim Welch took medallist honors with a score of 214.
Junior Meghan Little finished tied for 31st with a score of 229. Sophomore Elly Leonard finished with a score of 234 and tied for 55th place. Senior Ali Wright finished with a score of 85th and freshman Cristina Gonzalez finished tied for 87th with a score of 252.
The Cardinals will wrap up the regular season next weekend in the Bryan National in Greensboro, N.C.
