Louisville Coach Rick Pitino
"This is a very disappointing loss for us but great for them. One of the reasons we are losing is that we are getting killed on the boards. (47-29) When you get outrebounded like we did, you are going to lose. It's been every game of late. It's very disappointing and to lose this game at home in overtime. The blocked call (against Alhaji Mohammed, Jr.) went against us but it didn't come down to one play."
(on the final play of overtime) "We had a totally different thing designed. I didn't comprehend what we were doing. It's a mental breakdown and I'll leave it that. I can assure you it wasn't the play you saw."
(on Louisville's difficulty trapping) "You can trap but you have to give them a chance to trap. You have to play some defense before the trap. We let the guy have it and then we backed off. It was poor low post defense. We played so poor low post defense, we couldn't even get the trap.
(on what's next) "You have to get ready for Memphis. It is a bad pattern and they are a good rebounding team. You can't play good defense and get outrebounded and expect to win. We have to get a "W" or win the (Conference USA) tournament."
"We knew it was going to come down to the wire. Every game is going to be difficult to win. We are suffering a low basketball IQ and we have to work through it."
DePaul Coach Dave Leitao
"To come into this building and win despite missing free throws really makes me proud of our team's effort. We faced a great team tonight. We just hung tough and it was a great game but it wasn't pretty."
"This is the best win we've had all year. To beat this team on the road, especially when they are 12-1, as Steve Novak (for Marquette) shot lights out to beat them. I was telling one of my coaches before the game that you have to teach winning and a game like this does a lot more for the pysche than anything I can tell them."
(on Quemont Greer) "His defense was phenomenal, especially on the perimeter. We knew if they got the ball in the middle, they could create trouble. He's got a mentality that I love. He's a tough kid, was a tight end in High School, and he creates a matchup problem because when you put him at the four, he can dribble around you and he can post you up."
"We have some goals and one of them recently is to compete for the Conference (USA) Championship. I'm not sure we can catch Memphis as they are hot as a pistol. We gave one away Saturday and got one back today. We wanted to play strong in the last 10 games and now we are 6-1."
