The University of Louisville women's tennis team won the doubles point and held on to win the doubles in the 4-3 win over Illinois State at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center.
"This was a tremendous win for our team," said Greg Davis, U of L head coach. "To lose to DePaul 4-3 and turn around and win this match against ISU 4-3 speaks loudly about this team's heart and character."
The doubles point was won when the No. 2 pair of Natalie Laszkowski and Kelly Taylor edged the Illinois State pair of Michelle Rabinovich and Laura Gravino 9-7. Christina Gogol and Paige Eber contributed the other U of L doubles win at No. 3.
The heart of the Cardinal lineup scored the three singles points. Taylor won her match over Elizabeth Bingier 7-6, 6-2. Julia Hierl won at No. 4 and Laszkowksi had her second win of the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win over ISU's Emilie Sechaud.
