Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino
"We are battling an awful lot right now and we could certainly use a couple of days off, which we're going to get. This was a really good game for us and we had to have Ellis (Myles) play tonight because of the offense that they (Austin Peay) run, we were afraid we were going to get in foul trouble. Everybody gutted out their injuries and we're going into Christmas with a nice break. We've got to keep on winning because our conference is the strongest it's been since I've been coaching here. We've got a good week to get better and improve."
"I think our blocking out has gotten significantly better. Now, we're turning the ball over too much and the defense isn't causing it. They're unforced turnovers and we've got to improve in that area."
"The best thing we can do now is rest. We've had a very difficult time and we've weathered a very difficult storm. I think all this adversity makes you mentally tough. Time will go by and we will get healthy. We haven't had many practices this year where we've had a full team."
"From a fundamental standpoint, (Austin Peay head coach) Dave (Loos) is as good a coach as there is in the game. His kids don't beat themselves. You've got to beat them and take it away. He's playing a lot of tough teams on the road and he's making his team stronger. He's one of the finest coaches in the country and we knew they would stay in there and hang tough. We had a good run in the second half and that got us over the hump."
"I'm really proud of our guys because they've hung in there through all of the tough breaks. They haven't let down emotionally this season. They keep playing hard and that's a sign of a good team. They didn't hang their heads after the tremendous defeat to Kentucky. They said `Okay, let's turn the page and move on.'"
