Louisville vs. Marquette Game Notes

- The loss to Marquette snapped the Cardinals' 16-time winning streak at Freedom Hall. It was Louisville's first loss at home since a 78-73 loss to Marquette on 2/27/03.
- The Cardinals trailed at the half for just the fourth time all season (Marquette, Kentucky, Murray State and Tennessee), 30-27. It was the first time the Cardinals failed to comeback after trailing at the break all season.
- Marquette also snapped Louisville's 16-game winning streak, which was tied for the fourth-longest streak in school history (1982-83 team), and it was also tied for the third longest with Cincinnati (1999-00) in the history of Conference USA.
- Senior Luke Whitehead became the 53rd player in school history to record 1,000 career points. He scored 14 points to give him 1,005 for his career. He also recorded his 10th double-double in his last 23 games, dating back to last season. It was hi fifth double-double this season.
- Senior Luke Whitehead grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds, besting his old mark of 15 he set two other times in his career - vs. VMI on 12/23/03 and Charlotte on 3/8/03.
- The Cardinals shot a season-low 32.8 percent from the floor, including a season worst 14.7 from behind the 3-point arc. Louisville was 5-of-34 from behind the 3-point arc.
- Marquette's Steve Novak scored a game-high 30 points, becoming the first player since Cincinnati's Leonard Stokes (31 on 2/22/03) to score 30 or more points against the Cardinals.
