The University of Louisville women's tennis team boosted their winning streak to five with a 5-2 win over Jacksonville University. The Cardinals won five of six singles matches after dropping the doubles point.
"Once we start getting our doubles teams giveing us a strong effort each match, will be wbe a difficult opponent to play at the Conference Tournament," said first year head coach Greg Davis.
The lone bright spot in doubles came from Marie Louise Frolich-Hansen and Kelly Taylor's win at No. 1. They beat Veronika Subertova and Kim Packer 8-5. Jasmin Singh and Paige Eber battled mightily before falling 9-8.
The Cardinals answered with a strong showing In singles winning all but one match and all the wins coming in two sets.
"We played very, very well in singles in tough conditions today," said Davis, whose squad now posts a 16-5 record.
