Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino
"It was another real good game but we are concerned about Ellis (Myles). Everytime I see an injury like that, it's probably an ACL but we lost the game plain and simple; on the foul line. We would have controlled our destiny if we made our free throws. But give them credit, they made their free throws."
(on Dwyane Wade) "We are trying to trap him and he takes them on very well. He's a great basketball player. Sometimes you look for hidden explanations but we lost the game on free throws. We worried about missing. This is a tough blow for us and I don't know how we are going to overcome this."
(on the Marvin Stone NCAA Investigation) "I'm disappointed with the whole situation and it's about as low as I've been. We've worked very hard for three months to get where we are and it's not right and I don't agree with it. If you want to clean it up, that's fine but it should be all or nothing. For every AAU coach that's helped out kids in high school, there would be no Final Four. You can't do this to a basketball team. It's unjust. We are the NCAA. I am not privy to what has been going on but It's not about Louisville, it's about High School. It's an awful situation but we're more concerned about Ellis Myles."
Marquette Head Coach Tom Crean
"Much like the first game, both teams played extremely hard. I'm proud the way my players hung in there the entire game. We had four turnovers in the second half and we protected the ball. We played a lot of great basketball tonight. I have an outstanding staff and Darrin Horn, a former player at Western Kentucky, put a great game plan together but most of you won't write this down but they are a great staff. This is a great, tough environment to play basketball."
(on the second half) "We tore up the statsheet and they knew we could play better and they did. It's hard to get ready for their press but we thought we were up to the task. "
"We expected their best shot. They had time to prepare as did we, but coming off those two losses, we knew they would be ready. They have great players in their program and we knew we would see a great effort. We knew things would eventually go our way as long as we stuck with our game plan. "
