LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team swept the Salukis of Southern Illinois 7-0 Saturday at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"We showed the fight and fire that we need as a team in order to be successful the rest of the year," said first year U of L head coach Greg Davis.
The Cardinals won all three slots for the doubles point. No. 1 doubles partners, Marie Louise Frolich-Hansen and Kelly Taylor, continued their winning ways with a 8-3 win over sisters Alejandra and Maria Blanco. Melisa San Martin and Julie Penn took care of Jessica Knitter and Zoya Honarmand 8-3. Paige Eber and Jasmin Singh blanked their opponents, Sophie Bedard and Yasmine Farag 8-0.
"When we have a great team effort and all six players show up mentally tough, we are very difficult team to beat," said Davis.
