ST. LOUIS, MO - Despite getting on the board first, the University of Louisville women's soccer team fell to Saint Louis 2-1 on Friday night.
Freshman forward Jamie Craft finished a feed from Mandy Rost just 4:38 into the match to give U of L(6-6-2, 1-4-1 C-USA) a quick 1-0 advantage.
The Billikens(9-3-2, 4-2-1) knotted things at one in the 33rd minute on a goal by Jamie Perry. Just before the half, the Bills picked up the deciding goal when Christie Cigno took a pass from Perry and finished with only twenty seconds left in the half to close the scoring.
Saint Louis held a 15-4 shot advantage for the match, limiting the Cards to just one shot in the second half. Cardinal keeper Meredith Miller made four saves, while the team made three stops.
Louisville will head to Chicago to meet DePaul on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. They return to Cardinal Park on Friday at 7:00 p.m. when they host East Carolina.
