North Carolina State topped Atlantic Coast Conference rival Florida State in a card playoff to capture the championship of the UNCW Lady Seahawk Golf Invitational Tuesday at River Landing Golf Club. The Cardinals finished seventh after shooting a 319 in the final round.
The tournament was halted for over an hour with a rain delay, causing conditions to be rainy and cold. Penn State's Katie Fucher and Maryland's Erin Clasper were declared co-champions individually. Louisville junior Cindy Pasechnik shot a 76 in the final round for a score of 223 and a sixth place finish. Sophomore Morgan Hapney shot an 80 and finished the tournament tied at 23rd with a score of 230.
The Cardinals will be in action again on April 5-7 at the Bryan National Collegiate.
