Women's Tennis Splits Doubleheader

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- After being swept 6-0 by Eastern Michigan, the University of Louisville women's tennis team regrouped and posted a 5-2 win over Southern Illinois in the second match of the doubleheader.
The win over Southern Illinois marks the Cardinals first of the spring season and boosts their record to 1-8. Southern Illinois was shorthanded and had to default two singles matches and No. 3 doubles. At No. 4 singles, Paige Eber beat Sarah Krismantis 6-3, 6-2 and then paired with Julie Penn at No. 2 doubles to beat Stark and Krismantis. At No. 3 singles Mariana Torres beat Kari Stark 6-4, 7-5.
In the first match of the day, the Cardinals were unable to win a set against the powerful Eastern Michigan squad.
