Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino
"I think I'm as proud of this victory of any game I've coached because we were so outmanned. This is a team that you can't sag, you have to put pressure on the ball and that takes a week off in the Bahamas to do that. We had to take a young man who passes the ball well, Reggie (Kohn), out of the game."
"It's not great shooting. It's great passing. Twenty five assists lead to open shots. When you watch TV, there is a reason why teams like Duke and Kansas are good shooting teams. I am amazed we shot that well but that's because we passed the ball."
(on the shooting performance) "We made a pretty good comeback against LSU since we were down 31 (while at UK). It's great because we passed the ball so well. It was a wonderful display and we had to overcome and mental and physical fatigue."
(on Bryant Northern) "He was on fire. If that young man can stay within himself, he can do some good things. When he thinks he's Jason Kidd is when he gets in trouble. He pressured the guy (point guard) all over the court and then making the shots despite being fatigued was great."
"Both teams are after the post-season. How possible that is I don't know. We can't concern ourselves with that. If it comes down to a fourth or fifth team (from Conference USA) that gets in the tournament, then this is a game that they'll look at. We had to have this game tonight. We had to keep playing well."
South Florida Coach Seth Greenberg
"I'd like to congratulate Louisville. They played really well. In the first half they did a terrific job turning us over, which I did not expect. We did a good job of making a come back, but they hit the three and pulled away. They took us out of our rhythm. In this building they are difficult to beat."
"The second half I thought we executed a little bit better. We just couldn't convert by scoring and they fed off that."
"I think they shot it better than they were shooting coming into the game. They drive it hard and do a good job of spotting it wide. They were tougher than us tonight and that is disappointing as a coach."
"We've got to get B.B. (Waldon) more involved in the offense."
