Women's Tennis Signs Three

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- First year women's head tennis coach Greg Davis announced that three players have signed national letters-of-intent to continue their careers at the University of Louisville as he continues to bolster his roster.
Christina Gogal of Darien, Illinois, Natalie Laszkowski of Toronto, Ontario and Michele Spiess of Stuttgart, Germany will join the Cardinals next season.
Gogal has been ranked among the top players in the Midwest and the United States during her junior career.
"Christina is someone who will be able to step in quickly and help us in singles and doubles. Her serve has been clocked at over 100 mph. She is solid from the baseline as well," said Davis. "Last season she won over forty singles matches and lost only one so she knows how to win."
Laszkowski has been ranked among the top 15 in Canada during her junior career. She finished in the top 15 at the Canadian Nationals in singles and has been a semi-finalist in doubles.
"Natalie is a very athletic player who is very consistent, who has the ability to finish points off at the net." said Davis. "Natalie is a hard worker who is going tomake her tammates better players. Her work ethic and love of the tame makes her an outstanding signee."
Spiess has been ranked in the top 20 juniors in Germany as well as top 150 in the women's rankings.
"Michele is an impact player. She is going to be abole to come ot Louisville and be one of the top players in the conference as a freshman." said Davis. "Michele will add depth to our line-up and has a passion for the game. She loves working hard and being on the court."
Davis has spent much of his early tenure on the recruiting trail.
"I feel very good about this group that is coming in August. To be able to get three outstanding prospects after taking over late in the recruiting process, we feel very blessed," said Davis.
With the addition of Marie-Louise Hansen Frolich joining the Cardinals in January, Davis says,"We have a great base for the future."
