
Field hockey shuts out No. 17 Central Michigan 1-0

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The ninth-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team defeated No. 17 Central Michigan 1-0 Friday in a Mid-American Conference match-up at Central Michigan.
Louisville senior Joanie Frame connected on an assist from senior Susan Sattazahn to score the only goal of the game with under a minute left to play in the first half.
U of L goalkeeper junior Christy Hershey recorded nine saves en route to her fifth shutout of the season. She now holds the school record for most career shutouts with 19.
CMU goalkeeper Janel Spero had two stops in the contest. The Chippewas out shot the Cards 14-4 and held a 5-4 edge in penalty corners. Central Michgan drops to 12-5 on the season (5-2 MAC).
Louisville (12-6, 6-2 MAC) will continue league play when the team travels to Ball State Saturday. U of L will close out the season on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they play host to Miami (Ohio) at Trager Stadium at 2:00 p.m.
