
Field Hockey Downs Saint Louis 6-0

Louisville, KY - The eleventh-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team defeated Saint Louis 6-0 on Saturday afternoon at Trager Stadium. The Cardinal improve to 10-4 on the season while the Billikens drop to 1-10.
Just 12 minutes into the game, junior Olivia Netzler scored the first goal unassisted. With 12 minutes left to play in the first half, the sophomore Suzanne Irwin scored off an assist from Shannon Kemp to put the Cards up 2-0 at the break.
The Cardinals continued to dominate in the second half. Senior Joanie Frame scored off an assist from Susan Sattazahn just four minutes into the half. Then senior Danielle Barr scored back-to-back goals off penalty corners in a span of four minutes to put the Cards up 5-0. Freshman April White scored the final goal with just over three minutes remaining off an assist from Kemp.
The Cardinals outshot the Billikens 12-0 for the game. Billiken keeper Leslie Kearns recorded 11 saves for the day.
Louisville 10-4 (4-1) will be back in action at No. 5 Michigan State tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
