
Women's Golf Finishes Third in Nittany Invitational

State College, Pa. - The University of Louisville women's golf finished third in the Nittany Lion Invitational. Host Penn State won the event, shooting a 305 today for a stroke total of 914. James Madison shot a 301 to pull ahead of the Cardinals, which shot 315 on the day.
"We lost strokes on holes coming in," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "The conditions were about the same as yesterday and we just didn't play the holes well coming in and it cost us."
Louisville's Ali Wright finished ninth with a three-round total of 231. Wright shot an 83 today. Jame Madison's Jessica Lewis took medalist honors with a score of 221, but not before a shootout with Penn State's Katie Futcher.
Cindy Pasechnik shot a team low 77 today. She finished 13th with a score of 233. Jessica Kell shot an 80 today to finish 22nd with a score of 236. Both Morgan Hapney and Kansas Gooden finished 28th with a score of 238.
After withdrawing yesterday with an injury, Meghan Little came back today and shot a 77.
The Cards will compete again on Oct. 8-9 as they host the Legends Shootout in Franklin, Ind.
