Louisville Notes
- U of L gained a season-high 235 yards rushing. It was the most surrendered this season by Memphis, which had allowed an average of 111 yards in three games.
- RB Tony Stallings rushed for a career-high 155 yards on 17 carries. It was his fourth career 100-yard rushing game and first this season.
- True freshman RB Lionel Gates ran for 68 yards in 16 carries in his collegiate debut. Gates was pressed into action with leading rusher T.J. Patterson out due to a sprained ankle. Gates scored his first career touchdown on a three-yard run with 2:42 remaining in the third quarter. He becomes the first true rookie to score a TD since 1997 when RB Antonio Roundtree scored twice.
- WR Deion Branch (5 catches, 134 yards, 2 TDs) surpassed 100 yards in receiving for the third time in five games this season and the eighth time in his career.
- QB Dave Ragone climbed one spot on the U of L career passing list (3,988 career yards), passing Bennie Russell for ninth place.
- P Wade Tydlacka's only three punts of the second half were downed inside the 20 yard line.
