Field Hockey Falls to No. 14 Ohio

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The seventh-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team was shut out by No. 14 Ohio University 2-0 Saturday at Trager Stadium in a Mid-American Conference matchup. The loss snapped an eight-game win streak for the Cardinals.
After the teams battled to a scoreless tie at halftime, Ohio jumped on the board 2:13 into the second half. Andrea Voros connected on a penalty corner to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Kristin Auge and Lauren Mazziotto had the assists on the goal.
Six minutes later, Auge added an insurance goal when she tipped a shot by Voros to make the score 2-0.
The Cardinals were held scoreless despite outshooting the Bobcats 13-8 and holding a 7-5 penalty corner advantage.
Ohio goalkeeper Tara Elliott got the shutout and had seven saves on the day.
Louisville goalkeeper Christy Hershey recordedthree stops and allowed two goals.
Louisville (8-2, 3-1) will play host to MAC opponent Miami University on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Trager Stadium.
