Field Hockey Falls to Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Louisville field hockey team opened up its season on the road Sunday with a 1-0 loss to Michigan. The Wolverines are currently ranked No. 4 in the HockeyPoint! poll.
Michigan's Adrienne Hortillosa connected on a pass from April Fronzoni to score the game's only goal at the 27:10 mark in the first half.
Louisville goalkeeper Christy Hershey collected 12 saves as the Wolverines pounded the Cards with 21 shots. Michigan improves to 3-1 on the season.
The Cardinals (0-1) will stay in Ann Arbor, where they will face Saint Louis Monday at noon.
