LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team lost to Miami University (Ohio) 4-3 Friday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The RedHawks opened the match by taking the doubles point as Katherine Dilly and Ericka Echko defeated Kelly Kiehna and Mariana Torres 8-5 at No. 3 singles. The RedHawks' clinched the doubles point when Ilse Meyer and Kadija Richards outlasted Melisa San Martin and Julie Penn at 9-8 No. 2. Louisville's Katie McLaughlin and Kelly Whitler defeated Ivona Grujic and and Janet Baker 8-4 at the top seed.

In singles action, Miami posted wins at Nos. 2, 4 and 5 to claim the match. Louisville's singles points were won by McLaughlin, who defeated Grujic 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 at the top seed, Whitler claimed the No. 3 spot with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Baker and Torres defeated Megan Zimpfer 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6.

The Cards (2-7) will play host to Southern Illinois on Saturday at 9 a.m. and Murray State at 3 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
