
Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At Beacon Woods

Bayonet, Fla. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 304 today in the final round of the Beacon Woods Invitational to finish fifth with a score of 903. The Cardinals were tied for first after two round but lost a lot of stokes on the final holes to fall to fifth. Ole Miss shot a 386 today to win the tournament with a score of 885, twelve strokes below second place South Florida with a 897.
"Overall I am excited and proud of this team," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "It was a strange weekend and they came through without Cindy yesterday. We just couldn't pull it through down the stretch."
After a school record performance yesterday, Morgan Hapney shot a 75 today and finished the tournament at even par. Hapney finished second with a score of 216, just one stroke off the lead. South Florida's Fany Schaeffer took medalist honors with a score of 215.
Cindy Pasechnik returned to the lineup today after being hospitalized yesterday and shot a 74. Jessica Kell shot a 76 to finish with a score of 226 for 19th place. Ali Wright shot a 79 and finished the weekend with a score of 231 at 29th place.
Meghan Little shot an 80 and finished with a score of 238. Erin Bell shot a 78 today and was tied at 11th with a score of 226. Bell competed as an individual.
