Field Hockey Falls to Boston in Overtime

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Louisville field hockey team lost to No. 13 Boston University 3-2 in overtime in the finals of the Hawkeye Invitational on Sunday.
Louisville's Pip Sanders put her team on the board when she scored seven minutes into the first half, giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead at halftime. Boston's Christina Strauss tied the game just seven minutes into the second half.
The Terriers pulled ahead when Robyn Kenney scored with 14:01 remaining in regulation to give Boston a 2-1 advantage. U of L's Keri Beckhorn connected on a penalty corner with just 10 seconds remaining in the contest to send the game into overtime.
Kenny notched her second goal of the game two minutes into the overtime period to give Boston the 3-2 win.
Louisville goalkeeper Christy Hershey collected six saves for the Cardinals. Boston's Susan Harrington had five saves for the Terriers. Boston moves to 2-0 on the season.
The Cardinals (1-1) will travel to Storrs, Conn., where they will face Providence on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 2:00 p.m.
