Ford Garners GTE Academic All-District Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three University of Louisville student-athletes, Kelly Ford, Alex Sivertsen and Trish Young, earned GTE Academic All-District IV Second Team honors.
Ford (grad., Sheffield, England) finished her undergraduate degree in May, 1999 with a 3.7 GPA in physics and is currently a graduate student. She was a Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal recipient in 1997. The captain of the 1999-2000 women's tennis team, Ford holds the school record for career wins with 102. She compiled a 12-11 dual match record at the No. 2 spot for the Cards.
Sivertsen (So., Oslo, Norway) currently holds a 3.92 cumulative GPA in Finance and was a recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal in 1999 and 2000. He compiled a 24-14 overall singles record and went 18-10 in dual matches at No. 3 for the No. 39 ranked Cardinal tennis team.
Young (Jr., Owen Sound, Ontario), an exercise science major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.878. She was a recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal last season. She recently won the javelin throw at the C-USA Track and Field Championships on May 12, winning the event with a toss of 158-03, setting new Louisville and C-USA Championship records.
