Twelve Cardinals Highlight All-C-USA Gridiron Teams

CHICAGO - After earning back-to-back bowl berths for the first time in school history, 12 Louisville Cardinals make an appearance on the all-Conference USA teams as selected by the league's head coaches and media. U of L led all conference members with six first-team selections.
Tight end Ibn Green makes his third consecutive appearance on C-USA's first team after catching a career-high 60 passes in 1999. Green became the NCAA I-A all-time leader in passes caught by a tight end and finishes his career with 217 receptions. (Bowl statistics do not count toward NCAA career marks.)
High school teammate Chris Redman joins Green on the first team for the first time in his record-setting career. The NCAA I-A all-time leader in passes attempted and completed threw for 3,647 yards and a school-record 29 touchdowns.
First-team selection Arnold Jackson caught nine of those scores to go with a Louisville-record 101 receptions in 1999. Jackson joins just 20 other receivers (including two this season) to catch 100 passes in a single season.
Running back Frank Moreau earns all-conference honors for the first time in 1999 after topping C-USA in rushing with 1,289 yards and 17 touchdowns. Moreau currently ranks eighth nationally in rushing at 128.9 yards per game and fifth in scoring at 10.2 points per contest.
Senior offensive lineman Anthony Byrd rounds out the Cards' first team honorees on offense after anchoring a unit that allowed just 20 sacks in more than 500 passing attempts and helped U of L to its second consecutive top 5 showing in total offense nationally.
Senior defensive tackle Mike Gantous earned all-C-USA honors for the second consecutive season and was the only U of L defender named to either squad.
Earning second-team laurels for the Cardinals was senior offensive tackle Mark Grivna.
Linebacker Michael Brown leads five Cardinals onto the all-C-USA Freshman team after totaling 104 tackles in his rookie campaign. Brown is joined by classmate Michael Josiah who tied for the team lead in sacks with seven, cornerback Anthony Floyd and defensive lineman Chad Lee.
Floyd and Lee, playing as true freshmen, each earned league honors after making contributions to the young Cardinal defense. Floyd intercepted three passes as a part-time starter and nickel back while Lee posted 13 tackles including three for loss.
St. Xavier High School alum Chris Sivori was named the league's all-freshman punter.
Conference USA will announce its offensive, defensive and special teams players of the year along with its coach of the year and freshman of the year on Wednesday.
