LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Collegefootballnews.com, an independent website dedicated to the coverage of college football, has placed University of Louisville tight end Ibn Green on its preseason All-America team.
A graduate of Male High School, Green led the nation's tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in each of the past two seasons.
A three-year starter, Green enters his senior campaign just 18 receptions shy of breaking the Cardinals' career receiving record currently held by Miguel Montano.
U of L quarterback Chris Redman is rated as the nation's fourth-best quarterback behind Drew Brees of Purdue, Chad Pennington of Marshall and Joe Hamilton of Georgia Tech by the website.
The website also ranked U of L as the 32nd-best team in the nation and predicted the Cardinals would go through the regular season undefeated (joining Nebraska as the only two teams without a loss).
Other players of note on the preseason All-America team include Miami of Ohio running back and former Manual High School standout Travis Prentice, Southern Mississippi defensive end Adalius Thomas, Kentucky defensive end Dennis Johnson and Indiana defensive lineman Adewale Ogunleye.
