Louisville Head Coach Denny Crum
"We knew Dayton was going to be a tough opponent for us. We watched them play in Hawaii. We knew that they were going to be good. I was disappointed because no one would get out and deny the ball."
"We knew that they were a good shooting team and we had to deny the wings the ball and we didn't do that. We've been spending 30 minutes a day on that in practice and when we get in a game they don't do it. They hit 11 out of 16 threes on us because we let them catch the ball where they want to. It is frustrating to me."
"They execute very well and they get the ball to the right people. We were never in the game. The way they shot the ball, you have to give them credit, they hit some tough shots. Our guys were having a hard time taking things away from them. We are going to have to change something because we are not getting it done."
"I am disappointed because the things we've been working on since the beginning, aren't getting any better. They don't do the things that you need to do to win at this level. We don't seem to be taking things away from the other team."
Dayton Head Coach Oliver Purnell
"Very pleased to get out of here with a win. We looked at it as a big challenge to get the crowd out of the game early. We played smart at times and we hung in there together. This was an outstanding win for us."
(On Marques Maybin) - "The job we did on Maybin was critical. It was our focus not to allow him to get open looks and I thought we did a good job at it. Our guards did a good job at knowing where he was on the court at all times."
(On Muhammed Lasege) - "We went right at him and knew he would be a little bit rusty. We knew the crowd would be behind him and we wanted to take them out of it."
(On Dayton guard Tony Stanley) - "I thought that Tony did a great job today. He did a good job on Maybin when he was guarding him. He hit a big three right after the first half technical foul when Louisville got four points in a deadball situation."
"We did a good job of running our offense. Especially in the second half, we were able to get the ball down low and hit some high percentage shots."
