
Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Pine Needles

Southern Pines, NC -- The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 305 in the third and final round of the Pine Needles Invitational to finish fifth overall.
The Cardinals placed two players in the top twenty with Cindy Pasechnik shooting a 72, 75, 74- 221. Katherine Mowat finished strongly at 15th with a 76, 76, 73 -- 225.
Michigan State overtook South Florida and Alabama which were tied at the end of two rounds with a blistering 288 final round, making up 19 strokes from their first round total. South Florida's Fany Schaeffer shot a 71, 73, 72 -- 216 to win the individual title. Schaffer and Laura Torrisi of Cambell University each shot a final round of 72 and a three day total of 216, forcing a playoff,with Schaffer winning the playoff.
