Field Hockey Falls to Ohio in Overtime

ATHENS, Ohio - The University of Louisville field hockey team fell to Mid-American Conference opponent Ohio University in overtime on Friday.
The Bobcats got on the board early when Amanda Eaby put her own rebound in the back of the net with 30:03 left in the first half, giving Ohio a 1-0 advantage. Eabys goal ended the Cardinals shutout streak of 224:42.
Louisville tied the game at 22:23 of the second when Pip Sanders gathered the ball 25 yards out, dribbled into the circle and put the ball into the far corner past Tara Elliot. The Cardinals would control the rest of the second half as they did not allow a Bobcat shot until four minutes remaining, holding them to two shots in the period.
The Bobcats won when Andrea Voros blasted a shot past Louisville's Christy Hershey at 9:46 of the first overtime on a corner. The victory ended the Cardinals three game win streak. Ali Johnstone and Lauren Mazziotto assisted on the game-winning goal.
Ohio goalkeeper Tara Elliot had a strong game in net making seven saves. Hershey made four stops herself.
The Cardinals (9-5, 3-3 MAC) will travel to Kent State and take on the Golden Flashes at 7 p.m.
